Old Flowers Road Introduction:
Climb, descend, do it again. Get used to that rhythm as you follow the roller-coaster that is Old Flowers Road. Starting in the west at Pingree Park Road, the trail rolls east for 12 miles along an old wagon trail to Stove Prairie Road. Shortly after the start, you enter the remains of the 2012 High Park wildfire. Thousands of black trees stand testament to the ferocity of that fire, but regeneration is in effect. Sections of new growth offer inspiration that the area will thrive again some day. Some sections have grades as steep as 25% so be ready to ride in first gear. The trail has small to medium loose rocks along much of its length, but the majority of the base surface is smooth compacted dirt.
