Flagstaff mountain road is one of the quintessential mountain roads in the Colorado Front Range. The steep climbs, tight curves and proximity to Boulder make it an extremely popular trail for bicycles as well as cars and motorcycles. It also cuts through Boulder Mountain Park with hiking trails crossing the road in multiple places. Add to all this some fun rock formations and beautiful views for Boulder and the Front Range and you get a road that is rather crowded any day of the week, but especially weekends. Don't expect to get out of first gear on the lower half of this road if the day you're riding starts in an "S".
